Hostile states are targeting teenagers: recruiting them through TikTok and games

The State Security Department and the military are warning residents and parents about the recruitment of children and teenagers taking place online. There is also talk of possible radicalization. According to the services, this is the work of intelligence agencies of hostile states, operating not only on the popular platform TikTok but also in computer games. What is the purpose of such recruitment, and how extensive could these cases be?

How much time does Vilnius’s young generation spend on social media — and what do they do there?

"I just scroll TikTok. Three or four hours," said the teenager.

Four hours is by no means the limit.

"Research shows that children and primary school pupils spend up to 12 hours a day," said Vilūnė Kairienė, Data Strategist at Mediaskopas.
