If last year President Gitanas Nausėda’s annual address was dominated by defense, security and geopolitics, this year the key word became resilience, according to an analysis by the media environment research company Mediaskopas. In addition, as the analysis of the head of state’s speech showed, there was also criticism of opponents and polemical remarks.
“In this year’s address, security remains one of the most important topics, but it is understood much more broadly — as the ability of the state, institutions and society to withstand both external and internal challenges,” said Vilnė Kairienė, data strategist at Mediaskopas.
