If last year President Gitanas Nausėda’s annual address was dominated by defense, security, and geopolitics, this year the main keyword was resilience, according to an analysis by the information environment research company Mediaskopas. In addition, as the analysis of the head of state’s speech showed, there was also criticism of opponents and polemical remarks.
“In this year’s address, security remains one of the most important themes, but it is understood much more broadly – as the ability of the state, institutions, and society to withstand both external and internal challenges,” said Vilūnė Kairienė, data strategist at Mediaskopas.
