An incident recorded in the middle of the week, when a drone allegedly flew into Lithuania and an air alert was declared for the first time since the restoration of independence, drew the attention of the world media. While in Russia and Belarus the headlines were dominated by talk of alleged “hysteria,” “chaos,” and “NATO’s helplessness,” the Western press reflected concern about a growing threat in the region and blamed the Kremlin.
As shown by an analysis carried out by the media research company Mediaskopas, the May 20 incident crossed Lithuania’s borders within a few hours and caught the attention of the global information space.
