The incident recorded in the middle of the week, when a drone likely entered Lithuania and an air alert was declared for the first time since the restoration of independence, drew the attention of the world media. While headlines in Russia and Belarus were dominated by claims of “hysteria,” “chaos,” and “NATO’s helplessness,” Western media reflected concern over the rising threat in the region and blamed the Kremlin.
As shown by the analysis carried out by the media research company “Mediaskopas,” the May 20 incident crossed Lithuania’s borders within a few hours and captured the attention of the global information space.
