As the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama is visiting Lithuania these days, we decided to look at how often the guest, Tibet, and Buddhism, as well as Buddhists in general, are mentioned in Lithuanian media.
The rise in mentions of Buddhists last September and November was driven by the ethnic conflicts in Myanmar. Meanwhile, interest in Tibet this May grew because of the Chinese pilot hero who managed to land a plane en route to Tibet after it was put into an emergency situation, and, of course, because of Dalai Lama’s visit to Lithuania.
