Representatives of the ruling “peasants” have been receiving more media attention than other politicians since the start of the term, according to a study conducted by Mediaskopas. At the beginning of the study, in 2016–2017, they were mentioned in an average of 4,000–5,000 publications per month, while this year the average reached 8,000–9,000 publications. The peak of “popularity” was reached this May, when members of the ruling faction were mentioned in as many as 9.5 thousand reports. The leaders in mentions were Saulius Skvernelis, Ramūnas Karbauskis, Aurelijus Veryga, Vytautas Bakas, and Bronius Markauskas,” Vilnė Kairienė, head of the monitoring and analysis department at Mediaskopas, told BNS.
